  1. Is the photographer insured and do they have to provide a contract?

Before booking a photographer, it's crucial to inquire about their insurance coverage and whether they provide a contract. Insurance not only protects the photographer in case of accidents or equipment damage but also provides peace of mind for you, the client. Additionally, a contract outlines the terms of the agreement, including services provided, fees, and cancellation policies, ensuring transparency and clarity for both parties.

  2. How will the photographer help you prepare for the photoshoot?

A reputable photographer will guide you through the preparation process to ensure a successful photoshoot. This may include discussing location options, wardrobe choices, and any specific themes or poses you have in mind. They may also provide tips for relaxation and engagement during the session, helping you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.

For my clients, I have a session guide that I share once a session is booked. It has so much info like picking outfits, locations, things to bring to your session, vendor recommendations if your wanting to have your hair and makeup done and so much more.

  3. How long will you wait to view and receive your photos?

The turnaround time for viewing and receiving your photos can vary depending on the photographer and the scope of the project. It's essential to discuss timelines upfront to manage expectations. Some photographers may offer sneak peeks or proofs shortly after the shoot, while others may take several weeks to edit and deliver the final images. Clear communication regarding timelines ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience for all parties involved.

For my sessions, my turnaround time is 2-4 weeks I deliver all the final Hi-Res images with a print release via a platform called pic-time where you will be able to download the digital files and share the gallery with your family and even purchase prints all in one place.

  4. How much retouching will the photographer do?

Retouching preferences vary from client to client, so it's important to discuss your expectations with the photographer beforehand. Some photographers offer basic retouching to enhance colors and remove blemishes, while others provide more extensive editing services. By communicating your preferences and discussing the photographer's editing style, you can ensure the final images align with your vision.

I have a natural approach and don’t heavily retouch photos I focus on removing small blemishes and basic retouching like color correction and apply my signature color profile.

  5. How much will it cost and what will you get for your investment?

Finally, it's essential to discuss pricing and package options with the photographer to understand what you'll receive for your investment. Prices can vary based on factors such as session length, number of final images, and additional services such as prints or albums. Be sure to inquire about any hidden fees or extra charges to avoid surprises later on. Additionally, ask to see examples of the photographer's work to ensure their style aligns with your aesthetic preferences.

I have a variety of packages for my clients and offer digital-only packages and packages that have print and options to add a la cart items like albums, prints, frames, etc.
